FAQ

Common questions

Is Mahina really free?

Yes. Everything is free with no feature gating and no ads. Our public promise is that nothing free is ever taken away.

Do you sell or share my data?

No. Your health data never leaves your device on its own, so there is nothing for us to sell or share. The app's design makes that impossible, not just against policy.

Do I need to create an account?

No account, no phone number, no email. You open the app and start — nothing links your data to your identity.

Can Mahina be used for birth control?

No. Mahina shows an estimated fertile window, always labelled an estimate — not for contraception. It is a tracker, not a contraceptive method. For contraception, talk to a healthcare professional.

Are the predictions medical advice?

No. Predictions and insights are estimates based on what you log, meant to be supportive — not diagnostic. Mahina is not a medical device and does not replace professional care.

What happens if I lose my phone?

Because your data lives only on your device, it's gone with the phone (and unreadable without your unlock and app lock). So Mahina lets you make an encrypted backup anytime and restore it on a new phone. The backup is protected by a passphrase only you know — we can't read it and hold no copy.

Does it work without internet?

Completely. In this version the app makes no internet connection at all — everything runs on your device, online or off.

Can I share my data with my doctor or partner?

Yes, on your terms. Export a clean doctor PDF, or make a share card for a partner or parent — with an item-by-item preview so you send only what you choose, through your phone's own share sheet.

Do you support pregnancy tracking?

Yes. Switch to pregnancy mode for week-by-week guidance, and if a pregnancy ends there's a gentle, judgement-free off-ramp that puts pregnancy content away immediately. Switching modes never deletes your cycle history.

What languages are available?

English and Hindi, with more planned.

Is my data encrypted?

Yes — it's stored in a database encrypted with a key held in your device's secure keystore, and you can add a PIN or biometric app lock on top.

When can I download it?

Mahina isn't in the stores yet. Watch this space — the Google Play and App Store buttons here will go live at launch.
